Volume No.3 -- Post No. 29 Going to Film

I have no idea what happened this week, but I've been inspired to start using film regularly.  I have a Holga 120N and a 70s Canon AE-1.  Step one was organizing all the exposed rolls of film I have.  Step two, figure out where to get it developed.  Not much success locally.  I decided to go cheap and easy on the first batch since I really have no setting notes on the photos and wouldn't learn much from proper processing.

The above was photo from the AE-1 35mm back in December of 2011.  We were hiking near Yokohama Bay.  That's how long it's been since I've had some of these rolls hanging around waiting to be developed.  Marlena looks so young.

The light leak in the lower left gives even more character to photo.  Jensen opened the camera back before I could rewind the film. haha!

Volume No.3 -- Post No. 26 Who is the Manliest Man on Oahu Today?

  This romantic guy!

I was assisting Jennifer on a family shoot today when the above materialized.  The cool guy organized someone from the Ko Olina Beach Villas to layout a large lei in the shape of a heart with the words, "Will you Marry Me?"  I think she said YES!

This is the second time Jennifer and I have been just hanging out and saw a proposal just happen in front of us.  I saw the setup, so I knew it was coming.  I wanted to be closer, but stayed as far away as I could to avoid interfering.  It was overwhelming beautiful to watch unfold.

Volume No.3 -- Post No. 23 Me and My Motorcycle

Jenn was in California this past weekend for multiple photo-shoots so I had time to go out riding.  I snapped this self portrait at my last stop at Army Beach.

Check out Jennifer's latest family and lifestyle photo-shoot from Turtle Bay Resort.  I'm her lighting guru and even had time to sneek in a few photos while holding her camera (wide angle photo #8 from her blog post).

I'd love to hear comments below or by email me at brotchiephoto (at) gmail (dot) com

Volume No.3 -- Post No. 16 Micronesia

I just got home from the Federated States of Micronesia.  I was only there for three days, and had to work most of the time, but I did have time to crack these snaps!

Blue Lagoon Resort on Chuuk.  The coral grows fast in Micronesia so the sea is shallow for at least half a mile out.  Makes for warm glassy water.

Same lagoon at night.  (30 second exposure).

Had an important meeting on Pohnpei.  Made my taxi driver, Henry, stop as we passed this lookout on the way back to airport.  Amazing.  This was at around 11 am.  The daily weather reminds me of the Louisiana coast.  The sun will disappear behind low clouds and by 4 pm it will be pouring (daily).
