Volume No.7 -- Post No. 7 -- California Desert

I went to the desert earlier this year.  I was only going for the weekend and traveled light; only bringing my Canonet G III QL17.  I love this camera.  It's small, built like a tank, and best of all, it has incredible glass for how much they cost.  I only brought two rolls of film and a red filter.  This is my favorite way to shoot.  No gear decisions, just light, composition, and capture.  I was there visiting family, and not for photography.  So, as much as I love the photos, most of these weren't taken in the best light.  I took them when and where I was.

The landscape in Joshua Tree is amazing.  The plateaus are wide and dry.

I think all film photographers love old stuff.  That's why we make images the old way.
